Highlights from the York Open Day with TGM Education
This summer, TGM Education had the privilege of joining students for the University of York Open Day. From historic architecture to engaging faculty sessions, York offered a magical blend of tradition and innovation. Here are our top moments captured through our lens and hearts.

The University of York open day kicked off with an introductory session from the University Reps then followed by a walk through of York’s picturesque campus, from the iconic Central Hall to the scenic lake view, students captured selfies, panoramic videos, and scenic shots worth sharing.
A candid session where the university rep from Nigeria shared her journey, overcoming culture shock, finding community, and thriving academically.
Most importantly, there was an Interactive breakout session which allowed students to ask questions, and network directly with faculty of professors.
What We Learned
- York values diversity. Almost 30% of their student population is international.
- Scholarships are available. Several York departments offer partial scholarships for African students.
- Personal development is prioritized. From career workshops to mental health support, York equips students for more than just academics.
