Forensic Psychology is a branch of psychology which relates to the law. It is made up of two main parts:
Our Forensic Psychology BSc (Hons) focuses upon these main areas and specialises in the social, biological and cognitive components underlying criminal behaviour. On this course you will study relationships between brain and behaviour, interaction within groups, and how human beings learn and develop.
This course combines theoretical and practical approaches central to the investigative process. You will learn about the reasons for assessing risk and analyse the validity of instruments used.
You’ll also examine the impact of crime on the broader community, the treatment of those who have committed offences and connections between mental disorders and offending behaviours.
You’ll graduate from this Forensic Psychology degree with the knowledge and skills to help you build a career as a forensic psychologist or to work in a complementary sector, such as the criminal justice system, police force or legal services.
