This course is ideal if you are interested in how buildings work and how building projects are managed. You will explore three major themes – the nature and role of the construction industry, management in the construction industry, and technology of buildings.
You will also study the legal, financial and economic environments in which the industry operates while enhancing your understanding of the other professions involved in building. You will gain an overview of the whole construction process, including surveying, quantity surveying and architectural technology.
You have the option of a placement year in industry to enhance your studies, providing hands-on experience which will be of great use to you in gaining future employment.
Our course has strong links with the research activities of Leeds Sustainability Institute and with construction companies such as BAM and Bovis who are very active in the region.
The course is accredited by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
