Sep, 2019
If English is not your first language, this subject-specific international foundation year will give you the necessary English language ability and expertise to study an undergraduate degree in business within UK higher education.
This pathway will prepare you for study on our business courses. You will be introduced to some of the fundamental principles of business and management and develop your knowledge of the role businesses play in the economy. Classroom seminars will help you to familiarise yourself with business operations and you will research existing organisations using a range of case studies. Working both in groups and individually, you will explore information and show your analysis through presentations and reports.
You might study some parts of the course with British students, while other sessions will be with fellow international students. The teaching on this course is British Council accredited.
On completion of this course, you will automatically progress to study on an undergraduate degree in your chosen subject area. You will also be awarded a Foundation Certificate. As such, this course is the first year of a four year integrated degree programme*.
After completing this course, your communication and presentation skills, time management, problem solving, and organisation and planning skills will all increase. Your intercultural awareness and self-confidence will benefit and you will be able to show greater initiative in all that you do. All of these skills will prepare you for your next programme of study and the workplace when you graduate.
