Kingston University Has Invested £6.8 Million In New Science Laboratories

Based across two campuses, the faculty of science, engineering and computing offers a wealth of high-tech equipment and an innovative learning environment. Engineering facilities include: A full-size wind tunnel for testing student designed prototypes such as parachutes, water speed vehicles and motorbikes; a flight simulator which allows students to enter their design and virtually ‘fly’ their aircraft, and a drop tower, one of only a few in the world, which enables students conduct experiments in a near-zero gravity environment.

Pharmacy and Chemistry students benefit from brand new state-of-the-art laboratories whilst computing students can use our modern computing and gaming labs.

Kingston University students participate in the annual formula Student competition, Europe’s most high profile educational motorsport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Kingston Alumni include Jonathan Ashereson OBE, regional director SE Asia, Rolls-Royce; Brian O’Rourke CEng, MRAeS, FIMechE, MIMMM, Chief Composite Engineer Ltd and Malcolm A H Brown, President of the Geological Society of London.

Kingston University is Top in London for Sport Science (Guardian University Guide, 2017) and Nutrition has a 100 percent student satisfaction rating, top in the UK (NSS 2016).
